    Power Team Workshop

    Building effective Power Groups

One of the benefits of BNI membership is access to free training. The latest workshop held on Monday evening, 22nd Feb in the Premier Inn, Waring Street, was the Power Team Workshop.

Five members of City chapter joined about 35 other BNI members from other chapters  to learn how to harness the power of the power team to make sure they can more easily find referrals for your fellow members and gain referrals for your chapter thus getting more business which is after all what ot is all about.

Simon Smith (BNI Assistant Director in NI) delivered a informative and fun presentation ensuring the message got across to all those attending. Power Groups are a sure fire way to increase the value of your BNI membership by generating yet more quality business.

The next training event is the Quality Referral Workshop  on 29th March - see events calendar for more details.

New web site for Belfast City BNI

New web site for Belfast City BNI

Belfast City Chapter has launched its new web site. Designed and built by member David Cunningham (Truska Enterprises) with Photography from member Margaret O'Hare (Fine Art Imaging), the site is now run using the TruskAdmin Content Management System which allows members to manage their own details and profile on the site.

In addition the leadership team can manage and update a host of other information to help keep the site fully current and up to date with what is happening within the chapter. A member’s area supports these features and provides a range of resources to help members get the most out of there BNI membership.

The new site includes many new features including the addition of testimonials both as a standalone page and linked to member’s profiles, improved news and events section and a FAQ page, a member’s blog and more. There is also scope for a forum to be added in the future as well.

If you are interested in how BNI can generate more business for YOU then why not come along on a Thursday morning. Just contact any member of complete the enquiry  form on the contact us page of this new site.

    Visitor from New Zealand

    Visitor from New Zealand

The Belfast City Chapter of BNI had a visitor at a recent meeting who had travelled 11,500 miles to attend. Now, not many members can claim to have done that!

The BNI member in question was Darren Ward who had arrived from New Zealand to visit family in Belfast and being an enthusiastic BNI member, wasn’t going to miss an opportunity of attending a BNI meeting.

Darren has been living in New Zealand for three years and during his 60 second slot, he told the Belfast City members of how important a role BNI had played as he set up his new business venture ‘Highly Effective Coaching’.

After joining his local chapter in Nelson, South Island, he quickly appreciated the power of BNI in generating business referrals.
Darren is currently Chapter Director of the lunchtime Chapter which has a healthy membership of 26. What is particularly interesting is that the town of Nelson has a population of 43,000 and yet it has four BNI chapters!
