Holidays - BNI Belfast City will not be meeting on Thursday 15th and 22nd July.

People do business with people they know like and trust and being referred to someone because the person referring them trusts them helps to open doors that are otherwise kept shut.

BNI provides a structured, proven system for the development and exchange of quality business referrals. It is the largest business networking organization of its kind, with over 5,500 chapters in operation in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Puerto Rico.

BNI is the most successful organisation of its type in the world; there are currently over 5,500 chapters in operation worldwide. Members of BNI in 2009 passed over 6.2 million referrals which translated into over £1.6 billion in business being done between the members.

Of these totals over 659,000 were passed in the UK and Ireland's 649 chapters resulting in over £230 million worth of recorded business for members. The philosophy of BNI is based on “givers gain” – if I give you the opportunity to do business, you will want to do the same for someone in the group. In other words, “what goes around comes around”.

Our operating philosophy is 'Givers Gain', and since we allow only one person from any profession to join our chapter, you can become a part of that Circle of Giving. When you join a BNI chapter, you lock in your position and lock out your competition.

    Our Mission
To practice the givers gain philosophy of business networking, by helping fellow professionals achieve business growth through qualified word-of-mouth referrals, education, training and modeling.

    Leap of faith

It's all go this week at Belfast City. Paddy steadies himself for the impending nuptials, the numbers are fairly ramping up for next weeks visitors bonanza and David's suit was still in the dry-cleaners after the toil of the Balmoral show. Evan Morton of Concept Advertising flew us through his latest American Holidays campaign and put to bed any suspicions that Starplan were little league in their marketing thrust. Paddy road-tested a snippet of his wedding speech on us (leave it in Paddy, it's a keeper) and our roving reporter spotted a familiar dome in this perilously parked red truck. I'm not talking about Bob the Builder's hard hat, but rather the brave bonce of our own Mr Cunningham who was shanghaied into the drivers seat. Pleased to welcome the very lovely Janet Williamson this morning, partner in O'Reilly Stewart Solicitors, and we hope to see her next week at our visitors day. Curious about what BNI can do for your business? Give any one of us a call and come along for breakfast to see what it's all about. Oh, and Adam Jaffa of Gentle Dental went home with his arms full, earning himself both the choccy and door prices today for, well just for being Adam!
